Decided to camo the .270
#1
Ok so i decided i was tired of the deer rifle bing black, so i camoed it the other day!! Its a Howa .270 with a synthetic stock and a Bushnell Banner 6-18x60 scope.

this is how it began......[Image: null_zpsee321f6e.jpg]

then disassenbled and painted a moss green....

added a layer of brush similar to the area i hunt and painted olive green

one more heavy layer of brush, then black

removed sticks and brush then hit with a light coat of the moss to blend everything just right

bought a bipod and did the same thing....

oh, and look and the stock where ammo sleeve is, i also made a chin rest out of a broom handle to help relieve neck strain when focusing scope

was fun, and the pics dont do it justice....everyone that has seen it swears it came from the factory like that till i show them the pics of me doing it!! hope this helps anyone thinkinf of doing it
forgot to say, but bwefore you put on first coat, make sure you scrub with a scour pad very well and then wipe with a damp cloth to make sure everything is removed from surface.

yeah man, went out to the land couple weeks ago and put all 5 shots in a 1/2" grouping at 500 yards no problem. the guy i bought it from said the gun smith put a 1" spacing at 1000 yards with it, but i dont think im good enough to even ATTEMPT that! lol

yeah man, just pick the colors and foliage thats native to where you hunt. im thinking of doing the barrel and scope too, but i havent decided yet
the most important part of this whole thing was the chin rest i put on! i lay my cheek there and im lined up perfectly with the scope, no neck strain whatsoever!!
my next set of days off, im thinking of doing my 9mm that i take with me when i go hunting too.....might as well, right!

very cool i cant bring myself to the camo on any of my guns yet, i need to get one and just do it and do it up like you did.
My 9mm is in the holster and conceled, so i am not worried about that.

Very sweet
men and fish are alike. we both get in trouble when we open our mouths.
