Spring Turkey
#1
Waterfowl is done so now it's time to think about those spring gobblers. Anyone else headed out in late march/ April? What's the tool of choice? 12 gauge, 20 gauge, bow? I'm headed up to mariposa to try and drop a few

after many talks on this with you, i am torn on the 20 vs 12 for turkey.
however lets see some thoughts.

I was pretty surprised at the effectiveness of the 20 with today's Ammo. My spring turkey last year I shot with my 20 and some 3" Remington nitro turkey and I dropped my bird at 52 yards with my 870. This year I should be in closer proximity and I am flirting with my 28ga side by side or my bow.

I would use my 12ga if I were going turkey hunting. Not that a20 isn't capable, I just don't own one.
