Chris Gercke, as well as my brother and I launched out of Dana at 8 am sat morning in search of calico bass. We head to the first spot and start getting them. We were fishing tenacious baits with weedless leadheads. Looked for good conditions and found fish in each spot where the conditions were right. Threw the swimbaits over the thick matts and let them fall through the pockets. Fished from 9-12 and didn't lose one lead head. We were all happy for that, not having to break off and re tie and repeat.
Went looking for around la jolla as well, but it was a zoo and we didn't spend to much time out there. Talked to a few buddys on a few different boats who had lost fish or killed them but most were at least getting bit in the morning
