In the mood, not so much
Holy cow it is the middle of May and East Cape traffic remains incredibly light. For the last several weeks we have experienced stellar weather with comfortable air temps day and night. No need for long sleeves or to run the A/C. There have been a few days the water on the Sea of Cortez has been nervous but still fishable. Sea temperature has remained in the high 70's and a beautiful blue.
Finding gamefish has been easy. Schooling roosterfish are cruising East Cape shorelines and off shore striped marlin, dorado and wahoo are abundant. The problem is most are not in the mood. Only about one fish out of ten are showing any interest in baits presented. It has been action packed and entertaining but frustrating at the same time.
The fish are here and it is my prediction that one day soon they are going to turn on. Hang on to your rod when they do!
Marlin haven't been much in the mood
Pierre journeyed all the way from South Africa in search of a roosterfish and collected quite a mixed bag
Snapper
Dorado
Finally a roosterfish
Pierre with a nice one
We love having first timers aboard.
Too much fun!
