Of course fish4men will say that shitmano all the way! Like you said, it's preference. However, being involved with Swba I know the guys a great amount has purchased Abu or the Lexa. Guys fishing the Lexa have nothing but good things to say about it. Some claiming the Lexa builds energy within the reel during a fight to keep consistant fighting power. Cory at Mc swimbaits swears by the Lexa.

Ok good to know because choodak was using his curado on the 5 day and it sure loojed like he was having a blast with it

its not 100% stock either, remember that some of the great reels are only good when you buy them, it is after you toss other components in them they become great ones.
drags, bearings etc...

i would trust the lexa. the technology between the two companies is really good. They keep having to one up each other so we as the consumers are constantly getting a good product. compare prices and specs, and one big issue is go see the reel and put it in your hand. See what kind of material the spool is, different materials create more friction than others and can affect the casting, but then with all of the magnetic cast control options you can really tune them to your liking.
One big factor i look at is the size of the spool. you want to make sure you can put on at least 150-180 yards of 50# braid, so you can run bigger top shots of mono or flouro, like 30, or 40# fluoro. thats just me

I never check out the Lexa, but I really like how the Curado feel. Was checking out Choodak set up last time we went cat fishing. I'm pretty sure Curado is my next reel. Let see how much cash I have left after x mas shopping for the kids....haha
