Long and hard i have thought, do i keep this thing running?
The Answer YES!
The reason lies right out into other peoples thoughts and willingness to share. Writing about thing you have seen or done can be easy, writing about things you care about and are willing to share maybe not so much. Place's and spots that are your so called "Honey Hole". Now getting others to share info on what they have used or where they have been is a difficult thing to do.
Now having hundreds and/or thousands of people reading and know can suck. However us as individuals don't always need to give that exact location but lead others into a good direction is more the key. With out traffic and new post what do we have to read? so please post Questions, Reviews, tips and tricks and even memories of the outdoors etc...
So what does it take to run a forum, one patients and two guts. Oh and that little thing called money! The internet is a great FREE place until you host a website, pay programers, advertise and put on contest or events. With that noted, now back to the first part information and timing. It is truly hard to promote and talk to people and get them on the site as well stay.
I have shared pretty much my life to the world through OFB outddors, same with a few members. My reward is that some have gained knowledge and others have moved on to either love / hate the site or new ventures. Either way i look at the positives i have learned as well as the trials and tribulations.
Anyone that thinks with no money you can start a forum and make it big, well i wish you luck. Anyone that thinks they can ride for free and call their self a prostaff, well you better start posting and being professional. Lurking on sites is great but not posting kills sites. The other part is the advertising aspect. Yep get people to pay or sponsor things. Now we are talking big promises and reputations. Yes all this rides on the person behind the scenes.
We have many sponsors and contributors associated with OFB outdoors, to all we thank you. I have let the contest go for several months and need to start on some new ones. so if you are reading this and made it this far, give us your feed back.
Tight Lines and Straight Shots
Thank you,
Team OFB outdoors.
