want to "Sell your Catch" here is the cost
#1
So you want to "Sell your Catch" here is the cost for doing so as well some of the rules.

once you have a crew or if your solo and think this is easy money, well lets break this down. Because this isn't a charter boat deal, meaning a boat on the water 7 days a week. this is going out when you can how you can and following rules that are slightly different. The breakdown for this will be for an overview and each person not the boat owner. I need to mention that some fees here are based on a small center console not a large boat, so adjust to some higher fees in the daily cost and more trips does not ean less money per day.

Lets start with license cost, in addition to your current license here we go;
Resident Commercial Fishing License
$136.99
Required for any resident 16 years of age or older who uses or operates or assists in using or operating any boat, aircraft, net, trap, line, or other appliance to take fish for commercial purposes, or who contributes materially to the activities on board a commercial fishing vessel.

Now the boat fee;
Commercial Boat Registration (Resident)
$357.00
Required for any resident owner or operator for any vessel operated in public waters in connection with fishing operations for profit in this State; or which, for profit, permits persons to sport fish.

Boat fees this is one most forget about;
Registration $100 per year
Insurance $1000 per year
Maintenance $500 a season

The cost just to go out per day;
Fuel $200
Bait $60
Food $50
Misc. $100
Ice $40

So here we go with the per day cost of wanting to "Sell your Catch". This is again a estimated cost. $450 plus the cost of everything else to make a return  divide that say by 8 trips. $265 per trip just in the other fees. So in all per trip is going to be about $715 now you need to catch some fish to counter that operating cost.

Well that is it in a nut shell.
Tight lines and who is in for next year?
Let God lead the way!
