come on man you gotta be smarter than that with a deal of that nature! you just added fuel to the fire and he got you in trouble. next time you wait until he is not around and strip the line about 10 to 15 feet and heat it up with a lighter, repeat about 4 or 5 times, spool it back up and take him fishing, watch and laugh as each fish breaks him off. and just laugh as he has to buy new line, he will learn!

never tried it with spectra, only mono, spectra you may have to research that one, goole it or youtube it. i am sure there is a way to screw with it...

I cant find anyways I will just mess with the leader I will burn the leader at the knot and then he goes to set the hook pop goes the leader and I wont tie them for him any more
