Full story on the COB website. This is from last Tuesday when the seabass bite at Catalina started. For obvious reasons I had to keep the video to myself. It shows exactly where we were, and I did not want the blame for sending the whole world over there.
The Video: After Bob gets his fish gaffed, check out Ryan hooking a fish right under the boat. These fish were all females and in full spawn mode, eating ANYTHING we dropped down. (Trust me, we dropped some weird shit to see if they'd bite it). No scale on board but Ryans big fish taped out to be over 50#'s. I love it when a plan comes together!
5 guys on board and we kept 5 seabass. A couple were carefully released and swam away totally unharmed. I know how to release seabass, especially after having Hubbs guys on my boats in the past to catch fish for the hatchery.
