Everybody knows about breast cancer, said Tapocik, 35, who runs OFBoutdoors.com, an online fishing, hunting and outdoors forum. Prostate cancer is just as fatal for men as breast cancer is for women. It’s a scary, scary thought. This Event / Tournament is to let people know about Prostate Cancer as well to assist in finding the cure. All proceeds go directly to the Prostate Cancer Foundation (PCF.org). The reason behind why; Mike Tapocik donates his time and energy into this event. Well besides his love for family and outdoors. One morning a couple of years ago, Mike Tapocik got a call from his mom, who was in tears.
“Your dad’s cancer’s back,” Claudette Tapocik told her son.
This caused him to act right away. He called the Prostate Cancer Foundation and decided to hold a fishing tournament to raise money to find a cure for the disease.
Here is the Breakdown and what the bases for the event are; we will have 2 Divisions this year. First is the Family teams MUST have a child on the team (up to 4 people per team). Second is the Adults only (2 max per team). Remember the break down for this event $45.00 for the first two on the team, $15.00 for each additional for the family teams. The Adult team of 2 is $45.00. These fees INCLUDE: your entrance into the Park, Lunch, Fishing fees at the park, one raffle ticket per person, Goody Bag, T-Shirts and The Donation to the Prostate Cancer Foundation.
Also Lets not forget about the KIDS FISHING POND (ok a pool full of trout)!

Raffle Prizes (First) is the $1.00 tickets (Second) is the $5.00 Tickets (more for the adults 18-21 year and over) and (Third) the big one $20.00 tickets.

We have all types of raffle prizes in all the tears from Wine to t-shirts and fishing tackle to an above ground pool, Gift cards to restaurants / Shops and plenty of other items. The food is going to be awesome with plenty of Marinated Chicken, Hotdogs, Hamburgers and more. We would like to give a special thank you to all that have sponsored and donated.

As a side note: Prostate cancer affects one in six men in America. This year, more than 233,000 men will be diagnosed, and more than 29,000 will die from the disease. One new case occurs every 2.3 minutes, and a man dies from prostate cancer every 16 minutes, according to the foundation.
Tapocik’s dad, John, said he was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 1995. The 71-year-old Riverside resident has received radiation and hormone therapy, but the disease has come back three times. He is currently participating in a research study in which he is taking anti-testosterone medication to slow the growth and spread of the cancer.
He said the treatment is “working fabulous.” He visits a specialist regularly and takes a test to make sure his prostate levels stay in the normal range.
“It is treatable,” John Tapocik said. “Get it early. A guy shouldn’t wait until he’s 50 years old to start those tests. Get them when you’re 35 or 40.”

We look forward to seeing all friends and family at this event.
Thank you
