This is a MUST SEE Fishing trips!
#1
Is anybody interested in doing a offshore/overnighter trip on a 26 ft wellscraft with a cabin? My friend is looking for people to help cover gas. For $100 per person he can do a overnighter. And of course for less then that he will go offshore.

NOTE-The boat is in its slip in SAN DIEGO!

You need the mexican license but visas you dont. Visas are only required 24 miles within land. For the overnight trips no need for the visas and offshore also. But he will go where ever the fish are biteing at at the time.

great price for a trip like that, most of the fish are 75 to 100 miles out. either Mexico or past SC. Good luck to who ever goes. if i had the time i would jump on board. maybe next week if he still wants to go again

Im gonna come out and say it first. This forum is like a family and it should be shared. First off the boat is nice and the captain is quiet but cool. Second of all dont go with him until he fixes his bait tank. Our bait died 40 minutes into the trip leaving only a few for the morning and that didnt last long.

Problem one, if you tell me on the phone that the price is 100 bucks. The price is 100 bucks no matter what. You dont have 3 guys drive from Orange County to SD and when we get there want more money.

Second issue, both the owner of the boat and his fishing buddy who drove the whole time were both HIGH and DRUNK the entire trip. Weed is illegal in the waters. Coast Guard falls under Federal law and is illegal. Also weed in the Mexican waters? You gotta be f'in kidding me. That was a free ride to the Mexican Jail if something happen. You dont take 3 guys and suprise them with hot boxing the cuddy and smoking pot all night and day long. The Buddy of the boat owner must have drank 10-15 beers and smoked pot 10 different threw out the night, to the point were we wouldnt turn over the wheel and could barely stand. Safety huh?

Like i said, the boat owner seemed cool. But when you have guys helping you out with fuel, want guys that want to and love to fish. Thats what you do is fish. You want to have a party let us know so we can stay back. We were all about 200 bucks plus in this trip. We got the ice, the beer, some food which was no problem. We got that because thats what you do. Still he wanted more money, bait died quick and it was a pot smoking drinking shitty time. Thats a lot of money to spend when there was fish to be caught and all you guys wanted was a party.

Yea i was wondering which one of us was gonna come out first and say it...

What got me the most was the money issue. I talked to the owner a couple of times myself. He said 4 fishing on the boat was perfect, 5 is ok, and it would be cheaper for everybody. Those were his exact words to me. So i called fisherofmen and convinced him to go so we had our 5. us 3, the owner, and he said he had a buddy coming down from santa rosa. So all day long friday we talked probably 3 or 4 different times, and not once did he say there was a 6th guy. So we get there and theres a 6th guy. I was lied to all day long. Then before we even left the dock he's complaining about putting $800 of fuel in the boat. Now after talking to us all day thursday and friday about $100 a person, we get there and right away he's asking for $150. after we bought 60 pounds of ice, $60 or $70 worth of beer, and a bunch of pizzas for lunch. Oh and by the way they easily drank at least half the beer, and ate half the pizza we brought for ourselves. i felt bad about the gas $$$, so i ended up throwing $160 just for fuel. Not counting the extra $$ for beer and food.

Just be straight up with us. If its gonna be more money, let us know. If it works out for us to give more then great, if not then thats life and we'll stay home no problem.

then the weed. Man that was terrible. I have never been sea sick in my life, and im on the water no joke probably 50-60 days a year. maybe more. But when i make a special phone call to the captain to ask if its a big deal to have a few cigs on the boat outside on the deck where its not gonna bother anyone, then have the same damn courtesy about the pot. Dont hot box the cabin where it would be nice to get out of the sun for a while, and where it gets sucked out onto the deck where im about to throw up everytime i smell that ass weed.

And we're spending all this time and money, getting lied to, telling us what a great boat it is, asking for more $$$ and go 45 miles out to spots that 90% of the fish are biting bait, and your bait tank doesnt work? Really? Who actually spends all that time and money when theres questions about how things are working?

Overall, an absolute terrible experience, most likely wont ever go out with that guy again. But you live and learn
