Well yesterday was a very special Hunt. I was privileged with taking my hot sexy wife on her first ever big game hunt.
It was a story book start of an Elk hunt. Opening morning with. Blanket of snow and clearing weather as the sun was rising, minimal wind and not too cold. We headed out in the truck that just got a motor and transmission transplant. Haha. As we approached the canyon and got parked to start our hike in, no one was around us.
We got in to the area and heard a faint bugel, I smiled said here we go. Called and figured out where they where, heard a second bugel. Knowing the area and the terrian, I made the dession to go for tbe closer less steep hike. Let me mention we saw 1 other hunter and I said no way he will find those elk. Now 45 mins later we are calling and making a game plan. Shot rings out followed up by 3 more. I was in disbelief and made a few cow calls. Everthing went silent even the deer where spoked near us.
Well with kids at home and her not ready for the hikes it would have taken to get to where I guess the herd went, we said lets give it another shot later. All in all she was very happy and me, well happy she was happy.
Elk season with a rifle in utah reminds me of a California deer hunt. Haha, every turnout campsite and what could be said parking spot, used. We have another storm coming in and plan to hunt the aftermath. In hopes it will push the elk down.
I love this woman and her ambition! Not to mention shes sexy hot, smart and wanting to live the outdoor dreams.
I also need to give this asshat in the subaru a big thabkbyou. Lucky I was able to get out, like austin power, only in the mud and snow uphill over rocks. Should have just 4 wheel low pushed it out of my way. Haha
