It was no big secret that Mercury Racing was going automotive with its QC4v Twin Turbo Motor and who better to assist in the rep of the brand at SEMA than Daves Custom Boats with the beautiful red M41 tilted on a Lugo trailer.

While it is unfortunate for us that DCB couldn't be here in Miami and Key West for the big run we will give them a pass as they are showing off the very best quality the high performance boating word has to offer to the SEMA crowds.

Daves Custom Boats has installed numerous Mercury Racing QC4v Motors in their boats with incredible results. We are all anxious to see the reception Mercury Racing gets from the SEMA crowd as this is their very first showing at the event. If you are in Las Vegas you can find them at booth 34225.

Mercury Racing is showing off a new street rod crate engine version of their all-aluminum. quad cam 9.0L QC4v turbo marine engines. Mercury offers the marine versions in 1100, 1350 and 1650 horsepower. Speculation from the show leads us to believe Mercury will be offering these to car builders in at least 600 HP naturally aspirated packages. All this power doesn’t come cheap however, as the 90-degree 9.0L DOHC V-8 aluminum block (with dual-overhead cam heads Designed/Developed/Produced by Mercury Racing) is estimated to cost $65,000.

Looked at this post 4 times and still can't stop thinking how nice one of these motors would look in a trophy truck. Maybe Mercury Racing needs to get into the Offroad Scene? Only thing that got me was the weight on the beast. Buddy of mine is squeezing 900+HP out of a small block Chevy engine with racing fuel and turning 10,000 RPM's with 1/2 the weight. When they finish the Baja 1000, the engine goes in the trash.

they are gunning for the auto industry, i was talking with a source and GM is no longer going to make the 350 or the 454 Merc is taking it over.
1350 HP on pump fuel is pretty badass.

Yea i was down there all week, but didnt get much of a chance to walk to the show. Was working the booth for my company. And there is so much shit there to soak in, it would take honestly at least 2 full days to walk the entire show. But i dont know about GM shutting down the 350 block. I re-sleeve those for an outside testing company that works with GM direct, and im still getting blocks in for future testing. I havent heard any word of anything either way, but the work thats coming in for testing tells a different tale. Now, one thing GM IS working on, is a small bore 2-stroke diesel for passenger cars. I know this because i am helping design a prototype sleeve for them. now thats gonna be interesting. I may or may not be allowed to talk about that tho. Well, o well cats outta the bag. haha

GM is turning over the 350 and 454 to merc, they are not going to make it themselves from my understanding, because of the new engines they do have. you will still be able to get it but via merc. the lil diesel sounds bad ass.
