Went out on the Seeker yesterday out of Longbeach Sportfishing in search of the elusive grey ghost. Weather was perfect the whole trip, and so did the condition. We had live squid for bait so thing was looking promising. Set up for seabass at grey light for nada. Then we move out deeper to fish boiler rock. We caught just about all species but the two we were targeting, TY & WSB. High light of the trip for me was the last stop. I got pick up and drag screaming begin. With in short time my 300 yards of backing was almost gone. Capt Tommy pull anchor to chase down my fish. Couple minute in to it my line got wrap around an old lobster trap. The crew work flawlessly to get me free, and they did. Few minute later I got the fish straight up and down. When it came to color the crew yell "Oh s**t it a big ass seabass" then it took off again. But after it came to color again it turn out to be a massive bat ray.......lol. Oh well that was fun. Had great time fishing with capt Tommy Lee and the Seeker crew. I will deffanantly fish on this boat again this summer as they head back to H&M landing for tuna season.
