Left late with a tank of cured dines in search of something, anything local that wanted to bite. The owner of the boat wanted a chance at a thresher, so we kept a keen eye on the horizon for signs of birds/bait. We slow trolled through some good looking spots, for nothing. I did get a call from a free diver buddy of mine that said there are some seabass on the breakwall, so we gave that a look, again, for nothing. "Man, this is SLOW, but it sure is a nice day. Finally we headed down to a small wreck I like to fish in times like these. It almost never gets fished, and hold some HUGE bass that bite when the conditions are right. Well, it looked prime .
We picked a handfull of calicos and sheepshead off the wreck, then loaded up on mackerel for the owners lobster bait supply. Interestingly, this little wreck has no commercial lobster pots on it. I can't wait to get down there with some hoops to load up on the big bugs.
