High Sierra's 9/2-9/5
#1
Rented a cabin up in June lake this weekend. Fishing was absolutely wide open. Fished Rush Creek saturday. Between three guys we pulled on approximately 80 fish throughout the day. they bit everything from jerk baits, mice tails, salmon eggs, berkley roe clusters, pink powerbait balls. Then on sunday we fished the west walker river for the first time. Fished just downstream from pickle meadows. Great spots that didnt seem to get too much fishing pressure, as some spots you needed waders if you didnt want to get soaked. Another quality day with around 50 fish taken from 9am-3pm. You needed to just put your time in at each hole, and really study the water and find the right slots to drift into. And anything pink or red was definitely the color to use up there. Mostly smaller stuff, around the 12" range. My buddy caught a couple of 17" inchers, then i pulled this one drifting a single salmon egg on a tiny #14 hook....
