So we some how decided for the boys to not attend the baby shower and instead take the 2 little ones on their first Big Game Hunt. Boys 2 pigs 0 final count, Thank you Big Horn Canyon Ranch!
So as we arrived the morning cool air was already distant, but hey that's hunting not always perfect. We checked in and went to the range got the boys settled in and let them plink few rounds and dialed in. after about and hour or so we went up and started in the trek, no real signs at first and we explained to the boys along the way and the details. once we got to the bottom of the bad land it didnt take long. pretty good bore about 250- 275lbs we elected to pass on him, turned the corner and Waylon was able to put the smack on a very nice sow about 180lbs. We steadied him and he made a great shot with a 22 in the head, of course we followed up with the 30-30 and lets say at 50 ft away we where done. As we took some pictures and high 5s it was time to move on. off to play the hide and seek game. we headed back up to the top of the ranch and scouted. they said earlier they spotted 4 or 5 pigs on the ridge line. 45 mins nothing until we jumped some rams and then noticed the pigs 40 yard from them. Well now its Walke's turn. He got a little nervous said uncle Mikey you shoot, i said sorry buddy its your hunt your pig. so he shot and missed that's OK buddy, breath and take your time is what i explained to him. they all stood up and it was game time. he then put the bullet in the right place.
