Couple hour of ultralight fun.

Ok so my son went to Knott with our church group today. After I dropped my daughter off at school I have few hour free to go fishing. I thought it be fun to run down with only ultra light tackle. I grab my 7' rod w 4lb & 8' rod with 6lb line, tub of night crawler and headed for the IV canal.

In IV, time to head for the canal.


Got to the canal and got bit right away. Smallie where every where, all dink to 1.5lb


This flathead kick my butt. It was only 3.5lb but I hook it on a 8' ultralight rod. Fun to fight this guy, took few minutes to bring in. It spit out a nice size shad when I grab it. Darn greedy catfish....Also caught alot of bluegill and talipia at this location.


After about an hour I went to a different canal to try for channel catfish. Got to the spot and saw couple dead deer in the canal. Must of drown while trying to get some water. One baby and one grown one




Found the channel catfish that wanted to bite. Could of kept my 10 fish limit but only kept two. All fish are 1-2 lb



Pretty good couple hour of fishing today. It fun catching these thing on light tackle, and you get alot more bite too.

Stuff them thing in to a pepper with creme cheese, and wrapped w bacon. This should be a good dinner......

No those are not catfish fillet, I got striper fillet in there.

good fishing oats, sucks to see deer floating when the season is right around the corner.. pm the location, I would like to go out there and take some pics myself, I hope they are still there

One was a baby, and the other look full grown. It stink pretty bad so I did not take a closer look
