Captain on board fish report
#1
Captainonboard.org May 23rd

San Clemente Island: Opens tomorrow. With all the traffic at Catalina and nobody having been to SCI in a little while, it might be all time. I’d go. The kelps on the way are no doubt loaded too.
.
Horseshoe: Sounds like an off day today. Wind? Crowds? Maybe. Or, maybe the fish are now up at Rocky hungry as hell. Bass fishing on the Shoe is very good for those who can set up properly and have some chum to throw. 14″ size limit is no problem to attain, but you should still be letting most go. Where are the cuda???
.
Coronados: Not hearing much from down this way, but what I am hearing is that its still good. Nice to see the crowd disperse a little.
.
Catalina: Getting a bit crowded and only going to get worse. I plead the 5th.
.
Kelps: Seems weird to be talking kelps in May, right? Find a kelp, toss a bait and catch a firecracker yellow. Fun as all get out. Great way to get somebody their first. Enjoy it while you can because this is a special treat. Where? In the water silly….
.
A lot of you may notice my little fish report here getting even more vague than ever. There are plenty of fish biting now guys, and I really do want you to think for yourselves. Set a game plan based on something other that other peoples dope. Follow through and use your eyes and find your own fish. As good as it is now almost EVERYWHERE, you can do it, you really can. Take notes and learn from the experience. Finding your own fish is SO much more rewarding that following an internet report. Guys are going back to the same spots day after day now, leaving spots unchecked for you to find on your own. If you want to look at the internet to decide where to fish, look at where everyone is going and go somewhere else. I’m telling you, you will thank me if you do.
