For the halibut report-Fished all over the Mission Beach up 1/2 mile from the MLPA zone and all the way back down bounce balling, Reverse dropper loops, This that that this. All for a 40-50lb Black seabass(Released absolutely fine). Then fished a variety of different areas outside PL and inside SD bay. Even had some of the best looking perfect halibut size chovies. The lizard fish were on the attack in the bay! Other then that we didnt even get a single tap from the lizards! Well only 1 halibut was weighed in.
Float tube tournament- Well I didn't fish it but my partner did. He fished it solo and for never fishing up there I would say he did really well. He ended up catching I believe 6 or 7 legal fish with a ton of shorts. Was the only team to weigh in a 3 fish bag. He ended up taking 2nd place also. Thats all I was told for the fishing. Team Hooked Up is leading the Bay Bass Elite Series and hopefully we maintain the lead also.
Non tournament fishing- Been doing a bunch of this. Been taking my float tube all over the bays. Just recently tubed SD bay for a quick sesh. Caught quite a few spottys with somewhere between 40-50 missed bites on the switchblade(Small fish big blades). Just recently did a recon mission in mission bay since I have a float tube tournament there June 29th. Well the mission was WELL paid for. I prolly would of had somewhere between a 6-8lb bag limit for 3 spotties. Only caught 10 spottys but out of the 10, 4 were legal. Much harder to find the legals but the quality is so much better.
But I been doing alot of fishing and just no time to post reports. Would be pointless every time I went out would just be the same thing over and over again. But Ill start posting more reports. Well heres some porn for you.
