Almost out of the woods

Almost out of the woods
It is typical for the East Cape to endure tropical storm weather in August and September. This season has been no exception and storm after storm has had impact on us. It will just be a few more weeks and we should be out of woods for the potential of a hurricane.

The good news is the storms that have passed by have dumped several inches of needed rain and our desert looks like a tropical jungle. More good news is we haven't experienced any strong winds or damage. Luckily there has only been a couple of days that the Sea of Cortez was not fishable and charters were canceled. As each system arrived it did slow down the bite a bit but boats braving the weather were able to score. After each low pressure system it only took a day or two for game fish to become active again.

Latest scoop is sardines are available for purchase from pangeros near the La Ribera marina. Just a few handfuls of chum on high spots in the area has done the trick to get yellowfin tuna going.

Between storms conditions have been stellar
