Abu Garcia Next Generation Revos
#11
You cant compare Abu and Shimano as a WHOLE. Today sales are industry specific. The market place is targeting one category and in which we are speaking about is the baitcasting market. No body cares about what happen 10 years ago. In fact most Abu Garcia users were Shimano guys. Besides the EJ, Shimano changed the reels and turned away many users. Exact words were "I miss the old reels, the new ones are a piece of junk"

Shimano Calais DC Lets talk about this now. For the price tag of 649.00, my thumb works better. Why would you pay that price "Digital Cast Control" when "Magnetic Cast control works the same?" Also Abu's line up is the same if not better for a cheap price tag and quality you can trust. Now i know you're saying to yourself "ya right." Ill prove it

Shimano Calais Dc: Crank 31", 12/120 mono, Drag 12, Bearings 10, 7.0:1 ratio =$649.00

Abu Revo:

MGX: Crank 31", 12/115 mono, Drag 12, bearings 10, 7.9:1 (also comes 7.1:1) =349.00 and weights 5.4 oz

Premier: Crank 31", 12/145 mono, Drag 18, bearings 10, 7.1:1 = 279.00

STX: Crank 31", 12/145 mono, Drag 18, bearings 11, 7.1:1 = Depending where you go, around 190.00

Need i go further? Thats only mentioning a few reels of a big Revo Family and they will hold up in the salt without any issues. Heck the Sx which is around 100 bucks has the same numbers as Calais. These reels have a way better price tag, and you cant justify the price tag of a Calais. The Abu family production, durability, price, and strength is just to good for its competitors. The numbers speak for its self. Again Abu Garcia is unbeatable at the moment.

Saltwater bass... how long you been fishin abu reels? One maybe two years? Shit me and choodak have been fishing shimano for 10-15 yrs and prob longer for choodak. They have been and always will be a better product. Ive fished abu reels- piles of crap. Your just one of those people who wants to be cool and fish something other than shimano. Take the advice of your friends.. we only want what is best for you.
men and fish are alike. we both get in trouble when we open our mouths.

i will put my my Citica200e with all ABEC7 ceramic bearings, supertuned, with carbon drag washers against ANY reel on the Abu line.....and YES i did fish ABU for a good 15 years before i found shimano, and since then ive found shimano to just be a better quality reel. I even bought myself a revo a few months back, just to give abu another chance.....reel was nice, but i took it back. Although, my spare reel ( incase someone comes over and needs a rig) is a Silver max on a 7' custom made rod.....i wont lie, that thing casts a mile and i recently caught a 45" red on it....but i would never trade a Shimano for an Abu!!
