SD BASS CREW- Quality, Quantity, Insanity
#1
Fished mission today solo in a skiff at 7 am till 12. Got 6 or so and it was slow drifting in and out of the docks inside quivira basin. I took a break go lunch in pb and hung out at dana until around 2 when I took a panga like boat out from seaforth with 2 friends and my brother for the evening bite. Met up with charlie and together we tag teamed a stretch of shoreline for a fish on almost every single cast from 2:30- 4:15. He was throwing switchblades I was throwing Swimbaits. By the end of the maddness and a hell of a good time I had 25 on my boat, and charlie 31-32 on his boat for a total of 56 bass in 2 hours! It was awesome to see him hook up a hundred yards away then myslef, then each boat would have doubles, 5 ft-12ft it didn't matter whatever we threw got bit wherever we threw it. Charlie got some nice ones and a big one at about 2.5 lbs (he didn't have measuring tape). I had my sights set out on a 17" spottie and was slightly bumbed when We got back to the dock and I had not reched my goal for the day. Fished around the docks solo after I turned the boat in and dropped on a piling THUMP.... set into an instant drag peel and some grumpy head shakes and after a heart pounding fight I get my 17" spottie exactly. The feeling was just about one of the best to set a goal, make a game plan, execute the plan, and get my target in an unexpected manner.
