Check This Out! San Clemente island 4/7/2020
#1
Went on an impromptu trip on the Toronado out of Pierpoint. I got a call from a buddy on Friday to see if I wanted in on a trip and we set it up. We left Saturday night fished Sunday. The weather had been horrible the previous few days but it was really nice while we were at the island. The yellows bit slow but consistent and we lost a lot to the shallow rocks and the seals. I managed one and a seal stole a second much bigger model and smoked the drags and busted the gears out of my lexa 400. After the yellow i managed a pretty diverse bag that consisted
of 2 calicos including my personal best, a bonito, a sheepshead, a perch, and 3 whitefish. Trip home was really nasty but I slept most of it. First time on the boat and the deckhands really stood out. Patrick especially. The boat was under new management apparently and the owner was in the galley. The tabs were a total mess and I’m pretty sure I got double charged for some stuff. I will be returning to the thunderbird for further trips. There operation is leaps and bounds above that of the Toronado.[Image: 2ff1e3fd53eb24293ea1fee79609d2b7.jpg]
