Fish Report for Wednesday, February 27th: Two days until the rockfish opener!!! (Why am I so excited? Because the exotics are biting, and everyone will be out fishing rockfish and will leave the yellows and seabass alone!)

Catalina: Yellows again at the V's. Lots of squid here, and it sounds pretty good. No doubt the Western spots are holding too, and maybe even a seabass. Its right on schedule with Fred Hall right around the corner.ORANGE ROCKS and V's STRUCTURE:

Coronados: A few yellows were found today at the Rockpile by the SD Sportboats. No doubt a smart guy would take a tank of live squid down here and put the wood to these fish. The thought of it makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up.
.
La Jolla: Yellows here again. Not much, but then again there isn't anyone with a tank of squid targeting these that I know of. I may sound like a broken record here, but hopefully you will get the point.
.SBI: Now is the time when someone ventures out here to scout things out and are pleasantly surprised. This is a consistent early season BIG seabass island. Usually lots of squid here too.

Not sure why it doubled everything up. Sorry about that. I swear the COB website isn't doing that............I think? I better go look.
Very nice
Sound good, thanks for the report Capt.....
Too bad the stuff didn't keep biting. This weekend at Catalina was tough, to put it mildly. At least the rockfish were biting. Give Catalina a little more time to shape up.
Thanks capt. hope to see a great year in front of us.
