Gonna be heading up to the Coachella area for thanksgiving and i have heard about some good things about fishing the CA Aqueduct up in that area.. If anyone can give some locations it would be much appreciated.
Oatums knows that area well he will let you know.
I usually start out @ Lake Cahuilla this time of year and loaded up on trout. After that go south on hwy111 til you hit Niland, and turn left on Mc Donald road. This will drop you off @ highline canal. Fish it at dam for lmb, smb, cats, carp, gills, and striper. Then if you still feel like driving. Head south on highline to you hit all Americans canal. Lots of quality fish in there, drive along canal n look for fish. Water is crystal clear this time of year. Hope this get you started....... Good luck, let us know how you do......Oh and take lots of pics, we love pics here....

FYI....... don't get caught off roading in Riverside County. Big fine if you got caught, $475 ticket will rune your day. Cross over to Imperial County line before you venture off to the canal.

Depend on what day you are going. If I'm free, I be happy to give you a tour.
sweet man thanks a lot for the reply. yeah i was kinda thinking more of the largemouth and striper fishing. i will deffinately hit those spots. hopefully you dont mind me picking your brain some more. i have never fished for stripers and have heard of many ways to go about it. i have all the tackle for large and smallmouth. do you recommend throwing jerkbaits and crankbaits for the striper or some chovies on a dropper loop? or if you have success with other methods. and if the water is super clear are the fish spooked easily? would fishing some floro leaders be wise? and yeah if your down to hit it up and show me the way that would be even better. my bro and i are planning on fishing friday. thanks again.
i really want to learn where to go down that way, if i didnt have to work today i would be down there, heck ill be down there way after dark. Wister here i come.
I use 4 and 6lb flurocarbon while I fish the canal. As far as bait go, most shad like crank will work, so does nightcrawler and anchovy flylined in the current...................Good luck out there Mikey....wish I could join ya.
Good luck to Both of you. Sounds like a blast. One of these days Oatums.... the fellas and I need to head down there. Sounds like a good day.
