The 360-acre off-road playground in the national forest near Wildomar is welcoming back dirt bikes, quads and other off-road vehicles, said Jason Gentile, who manages the outdoor recreation area. It has been closed since ealry 2019 afte the october 2017 wildfire charred approximately 3/4 of the park.

Made available for use through an agreement with the US Forest Service and the California State Department of Parks and Recreation, this 360 acre OHV area contains over 8 miles of trails and is perfect for all experience levels, or those looking for single track trails. A short distance from home, the Wildomar OHV area is conveniently nestled within the Santa Ana mountains, 15 miles from Lake Elsinore and 30 miles from San Juan Capistrano. A Tot lot available for beginning and young riders in enclosed half acre track. The only OHV area on public lands in Western Riverside County and nearest to Orange County. Restrooms and well water is provided at the trailhead, and a connecting trail is available between the campground and the OHV riding area for non-highway legal vehicles.
For those seeking overnight ventures, the Wildomar Campground is conveniently located a mile away linking to connecting OHV routes, and offering 11 individual sites, OHV parking, and standard amenities.

Green or Red stickers are required on all non-street legal vehicles. Red Sticker use period in Wildomar is Oct 1st to April 30th. Certificates for juvenile riders are required.Restrictions:

The San Mateo Canyon Wilderness is adjacent to the OHV area and vehicles are not permitted within its boundaries

OHV must have a US Forest Service approved spark arrester

Alcohol is prohibited at all times in both the OHV Area and the Campground

General Information

Directions:
From the West: Take I-5 to San Juan Capistrano. Exit the freeway onto the Ortega Hwy (Hwy 74) east bound. Follow Hwy 74 for approximately 25 miles to the Forest Service Station at El Cariso. A Visitor Center is at this location. If you choose not to stop continue past the Station approximately 1000 ft to the intersection with South Main Divide Road (formerly known as Killen Trail). Turn right and follow the road south for approximately 9 miles to the Wildomar OHV area. The area is well posted so be sure you are in the designated OHV area before riding.
From the East: Take Hwy 91 to I-15 south. Follow I-15 approximately 22 miles to the Hwy 74 exit. Travel west on 74 approximately 12 miles, through Lake Elsinore and up into the mountains via the Ortega Hwy (Hwy 74). Follow the Hwy to the intersection with South Main Divide Road, formerly known as Killen Trail (if you reach the Forest Service Fire Station you have passed it). Turn left and follow the road south for approximately 9 miles to the Wildomar OHV area. The area is well posted so be sure you are in the designated OHV area before riding.
