Pay attention to the weather boys, and make the time to learn a little about Southern California weather patters. I fished a club tourney this weekend and 2 of the boats elected to stay at the dock while some of the others went straight to their mooring assignments in Fourth Of July Cove, Isthmus Catalina. Meantime my team departed Long Beach on Thursday afternoon and set a course for the Dumping Grounds. 140 Miles from the harbor mouth, and on Friday morning when the sun came up, not a breath of wind. In fact, on the way back to Catalina we stopped and shut down the engines for the night on the outside edge of the Butterfly Bank, and drifted until dawn. Again, not a breath of wind. Squid lights out and humboldt squid eating our baits. We had tuna up and crashing on the humboldts and sharks swimming under the boat. Its a miracle I got any sleep at all. We got 1st place in the tuna division, and 2nd place in the yellowtail division for high boat honors and 1st place overall. Easy since everyone else was scared of a weather report they did not understand. Check the photos guys, flat dead calm. Mike, I wore the shit out of the OFB.com sweatshirt and tee shirt. Its now "experienced!" Great stuff man.
Very cool, the weather was a trip some inside stuff was nasty from what I heard, but the pics and the offshore stuff well is now confirmed, Santa Ana winds make it very nice out there.

Also glad the gear worked for you and you like it. (Thank you) Joe has something for you as well.
