Here a report from yesterday trip. Headed out at 6 am to nice weather and clear skys. Weather got real ugly later in the afternoon

Got to the canal and I pick up a flathead right away.

After the flathead we made a move to Coachella Canal to target channel catfish. Got action right away when we got to the spot.

We made quick work on the channel cats, and left with limit for the three of us. Then we took of to another canal to target bass and stripers. The fish don't disappoint as we got action right away. Alot of smaller one but here the nicer model.

Mini striper was on the chew, so we kept a few of them.

After all the bass, and stripers fun we went to some flathead spot. By now sky was starting to get dark, wind was picking up, and thunder & lighting was closing by. I lost two nice one in a snag. My buddy got his 1st flathead catfish. We headed east to get away from the thunderstorm after this fish.

Thing don't look too bad when we got there, so we started fishing. Well few minutes later heavy dust storm hit us. Then this hapen.

By now I thought for sure we were going to spend the night there waiting for thing to dry up. Don't take long for the canal road to turn to mud and wall of water was running down the dirt road toward us. Had no choice but to make a run for it. I don't have a 4x4 so it was hard just trying to stay on the road that is now under water. As I was heading toward hwy 115 "the nearest pave road" . I watch the drainage dish next to us getting fill up with flash flood water very quickly. Don't know how we made it out of there but we did. Some one was looking out for us yesterday.

Snap this picture before thing got real ugly.

We finally made it pave road. Never thought I would be so happy to get on the highway and work our way home. With flash flood running over road every where it took us hours to get home.

Here the final tally for today. Caught limit of channel catfish, bluegills, largemouth bass, stripers, and couple decent flathead catfish. Ended up keeping these, channel catfish was 1-3 lb each.
