well ford says that my 2000 F150 2wd can only handle @ 1250 lbs in the bed....well I put 2k and was ok! lol, only because I have a 3" lift and some BFG "E'' rated tires! even with the lift, tires almost touched the fenderwells! lol Doesn't look like it from the way my driveway is angled, but the otherside is a lot closer.

I have the same year truck, except mine is red with a 6" lift. I've put WAY more into that truck than recommended, and it has always done the job. I even towed my old 59' F-100 4X4 home on a 3500 lb. trailer = 9500 Lbs!
